The company’s Champion Sponsorship will help to benefit six area non-profits dedicated to eliminating the local homeless epidemic
Rockville, MD—Optimal Networks, Inc. announces its participation as a Champion Sponsor for the 4th annual Rock & Stroll to End Homelessness on Saturday, October 11 in Alexandria. The 10K, 5K, and 1K Fun Run/Walk will begin at 8:00 a.m.; races will start and end at Eisenhower Avenue in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Afterwards, awards and activities will be held at John Carlyle Square at 300 John Carlyle Street in Alexandria.
The event will benefit six area homeless service providers: ALIVE!, The Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless (AACH), Community Lodgings, Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services (GSH), New Hope Housing, and Wesley Housing. This collaboration of nonprofits will allow the six beneficiaries to raise the funds necessary to further their missions to end homelessness in the DC metro and surrounding areas. Activities for the day include music, food, a hula hoop jam, a cornhole challenge, a zumbathon, and more.
“This is our second year of involvement with the Rock & Stroll to End Homelessness,” said Heinan Landa, Optimal Networks’ CEO. “It is a really fun event to help these six organizations fund some desperately needed programs and services and we are proud to once again support it.”
In addition to the Rock & Stroll to End Homelessness, Optimal Networks supports various causes throughout the year, including research for juvenile diabetes, the mission to end domestic violence, several local food pantries, and the Susan G. Komen Workout for the Cure.

The Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless, Inc. provides transitional housing and supportive services to homeless families and women in Arlington County and Alexandria. ALIVE! (ALexandrians InVolved Ecumenically) is an organization of volunteers from over 40 religious congregations and the community working together to help those in need in Alexandria. Community Lodgings gives disadvantaged local families access to homes they can afford, while also offering high-quality supportive services to families transitioning to self-sufficient lives. Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services (GSH) provides affordable housing as an alternative to community shelters, emergency financial assistance for those in need, financial literacy programs, and guidance and support to keep families in stable housing. New Hope Housing provides shelter and services to homeless families and individuals to help end the cycle of homelessness in Northern Virginia. Wesley Housing develops, owns, operates, preserves, and maintains permanent and affordable rental housing with supportive services for low- and moderate-income families and individuals in Northern Virginia.
