Net Neutrality and the FCC: What it All Means


Around a year ago, we almost lost the Internet.

Then the people and media united in an effort to tell the government what we thought about giving ISPs the power to control our access to the Internet. In fact, the net neutrality debate drew more than four million comments and crashed Federal Communications Commission servers.

The government listened. That’s right, once in a while democracy works.

Now, FCC chairman Tom Wheeler is making good on his promise to make sure the Internet stays open. Last week, he proposed new rules to preserve the Internet as an open platform, and his proposal will be voted on in the FCC’s Feb. 26 open meeting and is expected to pass. Read more here…
