Rockville, MD— Heinan Landa, CEO of Optimal Networks, Inc., has been selected as one of four outstanding Wharton alums by the Wharton Club of DC for his business accomplishments, service to the Wharton community, and contributions to the IT industry. Landa and his fellow three honorees will be recognized on Tuesday, April 23 at the 43rd annual Joseph Wharton Awards dinner held at the Park Hyatt Hotel in DC.
Honorees will attend a private and public reception, followed by dinner featuring the award-winning cuisine of Blue Duck Tavern. Adam Landa, Landa’s son, will be providing musical entertainment during the reception. Dinner will be followed by a brief report about the Club and the school, and the presentation of the awards.
“I am honored and humbled to be recognized in this way from a group I admire and respect so much,” said Landa. “I feel a strong allegiance to Wharton and our Club, and am proud to be counted among its alumni.”
After graduating from the Wharton Business School in 1991, Landa founded Optimal Networks, Inc. to deliver unparalleled business and technical expertise to law firms, associations, and small and mid-sized businesses and organizations in the Washington, D.C. community.
He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. He received his Master of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was at Wharton that he developed the idea for Optimal Networks and the business plan that helped guide the company through its formative years.
Landa is actively involved with the Washington metro business community. He is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for the Wharton Alumni Club of Washington, D.C., one of the largest and most active Wharton Clubs in the world, and is a charter member of the Technology Section of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE). In addition, he serves as a regular contributor to The Washington Business Journal’s technology e-newsletter, TechFlash, has been featured as a columnist in Washington SmartCEO Magazine, and has written and contributed to articles about critical technology and business issues that have been published in other prominent national and local media.
