The Association of Legal Administrators' Capital Chapter Foundation and its members and partners help Washington, DC area students get on the ice.
Optimal Networks, an ALA Capital Chapter partner, worked with other local businesses, law firms and individuals to sponsor the ALA Capital Chapter Foundation's 16th Annual Charity Fundraiser on April 3, 2008 at The Mayflower Hotel. This event raised more than $58,000 to benefit the Friends of Fort Dupont Ice Arena which provides the Kids On Ice® program, a free community skating program. This program serves over 10,000 at-risk boys and girls annually in the DC area. Now in its eleventh year, the program has grown to include beginning and advanced figure skating, ice hockey and speed skating, and "Skate for Fitness" camp. Skates, gloves and helmets are provided, as is hockey and speed skating equipment.
